9 Killed After Protesters Storm US Consulate in Karachi, Pakistan

On Sunday morning in Karachi, Pakistan, hundreds of pro-Iranian protesters gathered outside the US Consulate. Angry over the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in alleged US-Israeli attacks, they marched forward waving Iranian flags and portraits, chanting in fury.

Protesters surge against the outer gate of the US Consulate in Karachi, gripping the metal bars and climbing as they attempt to breach the compound during a violent demonstration.

The crowd rushed ahead, trying to break into the US Consulate compound. Protesters pushed past early police barriers and grabbed the reinforced gates. Some climbed the structure while others threw objects inside — directly attacking the diplomatic site.
