He Collapsed 4 Times at Boston Marathon — Then 2 Strangers Changed Everything

At the Boston Marathon, 21-year-old Ajay Haridasse from Wakefield, Massachusetts began stumbling badly after crossing the 26-mile mark. He fell 4 times and was ready to crawl his way to the finish line.

Out of nowhere, Aaron Beggs, a 40-year-old from Northern Ireland, appeared on Haridasse’s left and pulled him to his feet — despite feeling completely exhausted himself since mile 20 of the race.

Moments later, Robson De Oliveira, a 36-year-old from Brazil, caught Haridasse from behind as he stumbled again. Both runners lifted his arms over their shoulders and carried him down Boylston Street to the finish line together.

The moment exploded online. A TikTok video received over 2 million likes, and a joint Instagram post earned 8,000+ reposts. Fans called the trio “the 3 Musketeers,” praising their selfless act of sportsmanship worldwide.

Both rescuers paid a personal price. De Oliveira was rushed to a medical tent after finishing. Beggs gave up his personal best to help a stranger, saying simply — “It’s all about the goal together.”

Official results: De Oliveira at 2:44:26, Haridasse at 2:44:32, Beggs at 2:44:36. It was the 130th Boston Marathon. Haridasse secured his qualifying standard — and confirmed he will “definitely” be running the race again.
