Medics, Journalists, Peacekeepers — Nobody Is Safe From Deadly Israeli Strikes In Lebanon

Hezbollah fired rockets at Israel in solidarity with Tehran after Iran was attacked. Lebanon was dragged into war — Israel launched a ground and air offensive, with UNIFIL peacekeepers caught in the crossfire.

Since March 2, over 1,240 people killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon — including 120 children and 80 women. Over 400 Hezbollah fighters also killed. Over the weekend, 10 paramedics and 3 journalists died in strikes.

On Sunday night, a projectile exploded near a UNIFIL position close to Adchit al-Qusayr, killing one Indonesian peacekeeper — the first UN casualty in the new Israel-Hezbollah war. Another soldier was critically injured.

On Monday, an explosion destroyed a UNIFIL vehicle near Bani Hayyan, killing 2 more Indonesian peacekeepers. Fresh airstrikes hit southern Lebanon and Beirut’s suburbs — Israel also issued evacuation warnings for 6 Bekaa villages.

Indonesia condemned the attacks, demanding an emergency UN Security Council meeting. Guterres called the strikes grave violations of international law — possibly war crimes. UN peacekeeping chief Lacroix said peacekeepers must never be targeted.

Israel said it is reviewing both incidents to determine responsibility. Its troops keep pushing into Lebanese border towns, demolishing homes — aiming to control a buffer zone up to the Litani River, 30 km north.
