Over 1,100 Dead In Lebanon As Israel Expands Deadly Buffer Zone Toward Litani River

After the U.S. and Israel launched air strikes on Iran, Iran-backed Hezbollah retaliated by firing rockets into Israel. On March 2, Hezbollah launched the opening salvoes of a devastating new war with Israel.

Since March 2, more than 400 Hezbollah fighters have been killed. Israeli strikes also killed over 1,100 people in Lebanon — including children, women, and medical personnel. 4 Israeli soldiers died in the fighting.

Defence Minister Israel Katz announced last week that Israeli forces would control the remaining bridges and the security zone up to the Litani River — roughly 30 km north of Israel’s border.
