F1 Horror: Jack Doohan Faced Death Threats and Armed Men in Miami

In the final race of 2024 at Abu Dhabi, Australian driver Jack Doohan made his official debut for Alpine. It marked his entry into Formula One, a major step filled with ambition and big hopes.

Before the 2025 Miami Grand Prix, Doohan received 6 or 7 threatening emails warning he would be killed if he kept racing. He later described the situation around his final race as “pretty heavy stuff.”

During the Miami Grand Prix weekend 2025, Doohan faced 3 armed men near the circuit. He called his police escort to handle the situation. He did not reveal how it ended or who was responsible.

After the 6th race of 2025, Alpine removed Doohan from his seat. Franco Colapinto replaced him. His short Formula One career with Alpine ended suddenly and painfully.

After being replaced, Doohan posted on social media saying he and his family faced ongoing online abuse. He claimed fans from Argentina, Colapinto’s home country, were behind the harassment.

The full story was revealed in Netflix’s “Drive to Survive” (2025). Doohan spoke about the death threats and armed confrontation. He is now a reserve driver for Haas F1 Team.
